about

On an October weekend in 1973, in the impossibly picturesque East Tennessee town of Jonesborough, the National Storytelling Festival was born. From a few eager listeners sitting on hay bales the event has grown to host tens of thousands and has sparked a national movement steeped in the unforgettable power of live storytelling. Join Sam in a few of his festival performances, filled with music, laughter, joy, and tenderness.

“A voice so pure it made your heart soar and set the tent lines aquiver. Polished and alive.” – Ingrid Nixon
